Sundry Sights & A Few Failed Efforts
Another post of images, and a few of these have a bit of a tacky Christmas theme. I've been enjoying the amateur holiday decorating efforts, especially the appallingly bad ones, which are somehow both amusing and touching.
There's a detail of wise men, for example...delicately doll-faced kings in a storefront nativity scene who have come to worship a very large baby doll Jesus.
Or how about that caroler who seems so ghostly pale and sad despite her efforts to make a joyful noise?
There’s an inflatable Santa and his reindeer friend in an inflatable airstream trailer.
And what could be cheerier than a blue palm tree? (Which may or may not be a Christmas decoration...)
Cool señorita in the window.
Wrought iron chairs and nicely wrought shadows.
Just another bleak street and shadow.
In Bodega, where The Birds was filmed.
Finally, two views of a beautiful church, St. Teresa of Avila, built in 1862 and once famously photographed by Ansel Adams.
