Soul-Oh
I started the day with a soul-renewing solo walk, and I thought I'd share some images here.
Patterns of wet tree bark..and the wet road of the canyon.
Strangely luscious-looking mushrooms, probably lethal.
The substantial trunk of a formidable old oak.
The sandstone pool after...and during...rain.
Gazing outward.
And finally, as I neared the house, there was the full return of sunshine and blue sky...
I really wanted to end this series of pictures with a rainbow, and I did see one today. I even took a picture of it, through a veil of rain. But it didn't turn out very well, and I've decided to leave it out.
Sometimes the way you see it in your mind is better than a picture...so think of a rainbow. Okay?
Anyway, it was so wonderful just to be standing out there in all that sparkle and rain-light, like being at the top of the world.
I let my heart speak silently and earnestly, drank some hot, spicy tea from a thermos, and headed home.
And below is a bonus...a view of the moon rising on Christmas Eve day...it's not from today's walk, but if you can't have a rainbow, a moonrise is nice.
