Laying Low on Labor Day
Slow motion daze after a busy stretch, and I like it. Yesterday I took a short steep walk to a place I call the living room, and I made myself at home there for a bit, looking down at the bleached grass of the hills and the fading coastline. Even in the late afternoon heat, there is something about the light that lets us know that another summer is waning.
And this blog post will be mostly pictorial, images of late summer before it slips away.
Lichen and broken blue glass on sandstone....
Bleached blonde hills in sunlight's glare....
Certain friends bring chilled cucumber water and dragon fruit when they come to visit....
Speaking of dragon fruit, here is the flower of its cactus, which bloomed briefly by our door...
And more of that parched landscape, with blue sea at its hem....
Are you bored yet? Lazy is the mode...
