Extreme Sisyphus
This cartoon appeared in the New Yorker recently and of course I cut it out and taped it to my fridge. Yes, I know the feeling!
But it's also become my daily reminder of the absurdity and futility of enacting such a role. This is in fact Sisyphus cubed, for all eternity pushing that huge, heavy block thing upward as it refuses to budge or veers back down.
Despite his weighty predicament, this Sisyphus makes me lighten up...and there's nothing like a smile to keep things in perspective.
Levity versus gravity!
